Education Assistant – Randwick Tutoring Centre
We’re looking for someone passionate about Education who enjoys working with children and supporting their learning. This role suits a recent university graduate or a current undergraduate student seeking hands-on experience in an educational setting.
Applicants must be available Mondays and Thursdays from 2:45pm–7:00pm and Wednesdays 2.45pm - 6.15pm. Please clearly state your availability in your resume.

Essential Requirements:
- Strong academic background in Mathematics and English (Advanced level at high school or equivalent preferred)
- Ability to demonstrate high-level Maths and English proficiency (assessed at interview)
- Completion of, or current enrolment in, an undergraduate degree (Education, Mathematics, English, Psychology or related fields viewed favourably)
- Experience working with children in an educational setting
- Current Working With Children Check

Role Purpose
To support the Centre Manager with the smooth running of the centre and assist in delivering instruction that helps students achieve their learning goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide instructional support under the direction of the Centre Manager
- Deliver Maths and English instruction following our curriculum
- Prepare student work, select workbooks, and organise materials before class
- Conduct 1:1 coaching using Eye Level Instruction principles and approved training techniques
- Monitor student progress and ensure activities are completed (reading, writing, counting, workbooks, etc.)
- Assign the correct homework to each student
- Maintain a quiet, orderly learning environment
- Ensure students and parents follow centre guidelines (parents are not permitted in the study area)
- Mark and record student work accurately using the Eye Level App
- File student folders and assist with general centre upkeep
- Support enrolment processes and parent communication as directed
- Complete additional tasks relevant to the role as assigned by the Centre Director
Training
Comprehensive training will be provided before you begin, including ongoing on-the-job support.
