About the role
We are seeking a Lawyer / Associate with 2–5 years’ PQE and a background in medical, insurance or personal injury law to join our Health team in Melbourne.
This is an opportunity to become part of a highly regarded, busy and high performing practice, working closely with experienced Partners primarily on civil litigated matters. The role will suit a motivated junior to mid level practitioner who is looking to develop their technical expertise within a supportive and well established team.
You will be actively involved in assisting the Partners to manage files, preparing correspondence, reviewing medical and legal material, liaising with clients and stakeholders and contributing to the efficient progression of matters. You will also play an important role in supporting the team’s commitment to high quality client service, responsiveness and compliance with reporting requirements.
With direct Partner access, structured support and exposure to quality work, this role offers an excellent platform to further develop your career in a specialised and highly active area of insurance law.
About you
You are Lawyer / Associate (2–5 years PQE) with a foundation in insurance or personal injury law, looking to step into a role where you can accelerate your development in a high performing environment.
More importantly, you will bring a proactive and positive approach, with a genuine interest in developing your expertise in a specialised area of insurance law.
You will be someone who is:
- Experienced in medical defence, or interested in developing in this area, noting that prior medical defence experience is ideal but not essential.
- Open to learning and developing under the guidance of experienced practitioners;
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast paced and high performing team environment;
- Highly organised, responsive and attentive to detail;
- Committed to delivering high quality work and maintaining strong client service standards; and
Collaborative, reliable and willing to contribute to the broader success of the team.
