Monroe, part of DRiV/Tenneco, is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Product Development Technician to join our Engineering team in Clovelly Park.

About the Role
As a Product Development Technician, you'll support the development and validation of suspension products through prototype assembly, testing, vehicle evaluations, and technical analysis.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and assembling prototype suspension components
- Conducting performance and endurance testing of shock absorbers and coil springs
- Operating specialised testing equipment (training provided)
- Performing measurements and inspections using precision tools
- Supporting vehicle assessments, road testing, and product validation activities
- Removing and fitting suspension components on development vehicles
- Performing wheel alignments and mechanical assessments
- Liaising with production teams and automotive dealerships
- Preparing technical reports and maintaining accurate records
- Supporting quality, environmental, and safety standards
About You
To be successful, you will have:
- A Mechanical Trade qualification (Fitter, Toolmaker, Mechanic or similar) or Engineering qualification
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
- Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A current South Australian Driver's Licence
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work within a team
- Willingness to work overtime when required
Highly Regarded
- Experience within automotive manufacturing or suspension systems
- Previous sample building, assembly or testing experience
- Understanding of aftermarket product development processes
- Experience with shock absorbers, springs, or automotive testing equipment
