Position: Diesel Mechanic

About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm in the stunning Kimberley region of Western Australia. You’ll play a vital part in keeping our marine fleet, plant and mobile machinery, power generation systems, and site services operating smoothly.
This hands-on role is essential to ensuring the safe and efficient running of our vessels, equipment, and infrastructure in a remote setting. You’ll be responsible for troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on a wide range of diesel engines and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, and overhaul diesel engines and systems across our marine fleet, plant, and machinery.
- Diagnose faults using tools, service manuals, and technical drawings.
- Conduct routine and preventative maintenance to maximise reliability and safety.
- Operate and maintain diesel generators, solar farms and power station systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
- Keep accurate service logs and maintenance records.
- Collaborate with contractors for outsourced projects.
- Engage suppliers to procure spare parts and equipment.
What We're Looking For
- Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic (Skill Level 3)
- AQF Certificate IV or
- AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the job training.
- Solid experience with diesel engines, plant, and machinery repairs.
- Competence with diagnostic and fault-finding tools.
- Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and preventative maintenance.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Desirable:
- Experience with marine vessels and marine diesel engines.
- Exposure to power generation or remote power stations.
- Familiarity with marine/industrial electrical systems.
- Experience in maritime or remote operations.

Position Type & Expected Work Hours:
- Annualised Wage, full-time, permanent.
- 5-day work week, including weekends.
