James Busby High School is a diverse and inclusive co-educational comprehensive high school located in south-west Sydney with an enrolment of 540. Our setting includes a large and dynamic Inclusive Education Unit comprising 10 classes, with 96 enrolled students. We celebrate our multicultural student body that includes 42 Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students, as well as 78% of students from a language background other than English.

Demonstrated successful experience teaching English Years 7–12 with a proven ability to improve student achievement through high-quality teaching and assessment.
Expertise in leading the implementation and evaluation of innovative, high-quality teaching and learning programs with a thorough understanding of the 7-12 English syllabus requirements, promoting high expectations, engagement, and equity for a diverse range of students inclusive of High Potential and Gifted learners.
Highly visible and approachable leadership skills, fostering a culture of teamwork, trust, and shared responsibility within the faculty and across the school to drive excellence in teaching and learning.
Proven capacity to be a collaborative and dynamic member of the executive team to lead whole-school continuous improvement, including explicit teaching and literacy instruction in a complex and diverse high school setting.
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
