About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our Queensland team, initially supporting our Stapylton Network Upgrade project. As Abergeldie continues to grow in Queensland, this role will also support health and safety outcomes across our broader portfolio of infrastructure projects.
The Stapylton Network Upgrade is delivering critical wastewater infrastructure upgrades for the City of Gold Coast, helping to support future growth in the region.
As part of the project team, you will play a key role in driving a positive safety culture across site operations and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with project and legislative requirements.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of project health and safety systems
Conducting site inspections, audits and workplace observations
Facilitating incident investigations and corrective actions
Assisting with risk assessments, SWMS reviews and safety planning activities
Providing advice and coaching to project teams, supervisors and subcontractors
Monitoring compliance with WHS legislation, project procedures and client requirements
Delivering safety inductions, toolbox talks and awareness initiatives
Contributing to reporting, safety metrics and project performance reviews
What You'll Bring to the Team
Previous experience in a Health & Safety Advisor role within civil construction, water/wastewater infrastructure or major projects
Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and industry best practice
Strong WH&S system management capability
Experience conducting safety inspections, audits and incident investigations
Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and positively influence stakeholders at all levels
A proactive and practical approach to safety management
Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise
ICAM or TapRooT Investigator training highly regarded
Strong digital literacy and experience using workplace reporting systems
Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum requirement)
Current C Class Driver's Licence and Construction Induction Card (White Card)
