The Business Intelligence Consultant (6-month Fixed Term Contract) is responsible for delivering data-driven insights and strategic solutions across all departments of Volkswagen Financial Services. This role works closely with internal and external stakeholders to consolidate data sources, enhance reporting capabilities, and support business decision-making through robust analytics and technology-driven tools.
What you’ll do:
Data Warehouse & Process Automation:
- Assist in consolidating a single source of truth within the data warehouse, integrating all VWFS departments, with a focus on operations.
- Enhance and maintain the health and integrity of data within the warehouse.
- Develop and maintain automated BAU processes, reducing manual effort to a minimum of 3 days per month.
- Improve existing data collection, storage, and analysis processes.
Reporting & KPI Development:
- Design and implement new reports and KPIs to support business performance tracking.
- Communicate new reporting initiatives to relevant users and provide training to ensure effective adoption.
- Support deployment of solutions through handover and stakeholder engagement, including triage and follow-up to improve usage.
Data Analysis & Innovation:
- Ensure data meets the evolving needs of internal customers and stakeholders.
- Develop innovative approaches to leverage collected data for strategic insights.
- Automate data collection processes wherever possible.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive collaborative solutions.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, regulatory standards, and best practices.
Strategic Planning & Future Readiness:
- Analyse current and future data/reporting needs of the business.
- Research global and cross-industry data capture and reporting practices to identify opportunities for innovation.
- Recommend enhancements to data capture and analysis processes to future-proof the business.
Project Support & SME Engagement:
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in support of the VWFS Projects team.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives to implement new tools and solutions that align with business strategy.
The successful applicant:
- Tertiary degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Information Systems, Business, Commerce or a related field.
- Proven experience in business intelligence, data warehousing, and reporting.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Power BI, Excel, and other data visualisation tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
- Experience with process automation and system integration is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.
