We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Spatial Information Specialist to play a key role in the management, analysis, and delivery of spatial data and geographic information services. This is an exciting opportunity for a GIS professional who is passionate about leveraging spatial technologies to support strategic planning, informed decision-making, and service delivery.
As a Spatial Information Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing spatial datasets, developing GIS solutions, and providing expert advice on spatial information management. Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will transform complex spatial data into meaningful insights that help drive business outcomes and support operational excellence.

Essential:
- Degree qualification in GIS, Spatial Science, Geomatics, Surveying or related discipline, as well as extensive experience working across enterprise GIS environments
- Strong hands-on experience administering and supporting spatial information platforms, spatial database management and integration.
- Demonstrated experience using FME for data transformation and workflow automation.
- Proven experience managing coordinate reference systems and datum transformations, including GDA94 to GDA2020.
- Demonstrated experience conducting technology evaluations and preparing formal recommendations.
- Strong understanding of spatial data standards, metadata and governance frameworks.
- Ability to translate technical findings into clear strategic recommendations for executive audiences.
- Experience developing and executing system migration or major platform upgrade projects.
- Current Australian Drivers Licence
Desirable:
- Experience in maintaining GIS systems in a Local Government setting
- Industry certifications or training in Data Analysis, Data Visualisations or Programming
- Knowledge or experience in working with Open datasets and Open data frameworks
- Knowledge and practical experience in working with Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) or Design software used for 3D modelling and visualisations
