We’re looking for an Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team at our Kedron office. This is a great opportunity to bring your finance skills to an organisation that makes a real difference to children, families and communities across Queensland.
The successful person will create, verify, reconcile and process supplier records and transactions, ensuring compliance with C&K authorisation policy and procedures, applicable regulations, and transactional integrity of the general ledger. This role also includes verifying and maintaining vendor and Credit Card databases. This person will work collaboratively with the business to provide analysis, advice, and support, and will be driving continuous process improvements relating to Accounts Payable.
The successful applicant will be required to:
- Ensure Accounts Payable processes align with C&K policies, such as the financial delegation policy.
- Reconcile supplier accounts.
- Ensure invoices are coded, authorised, paid accurately and in line with C&K's payment terms.
- Prepare payment runs (including payment transfers, credit notes, CAG) and ensure funds are released from the bank on time.
- Ensure supplier information is accurate and up to date in the C&K finance system (Dynamics 365 Business Central).
- Manage Credit Cards in the C&K EMS (ExpenseMe Pro) and Westpac Card Management Platform - ensure integrity of master data, review credit card transactions (ensure correct coding & adequate supporting documents) and follow up on late acquittals.
- Prepare monthly accruals.
- Respond to queries in a timely and friendly manner, striving to exceed their expectations.
- Ensure all invoices; supporting documents and notes attached in the finance system for robust audit trails.
What you’ll bring
To thrive and succeed in this role, you will have:
- Degree/Bachelor of Accounting (or equivalent qualification).
- Demonstrated experience in a high-volume Accounts Payable role, including general ledger and supplier reconciliations.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, accounting principles, and financial systems.
- Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Business Central or similar accounting ERPs highly regarded.
- Intermediate working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, with Intermediate MS Excel skills required and the ability to learn new software applications.
- Experience working in a service-focused environment where timely response, accuracy and professionalism are essential.
- Knowledge of Early Childhood Education and Care or the broader not-for-profit sector desirable.
- Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail and strong numerical skills in all work undertaken.
- Well-developed written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills, with a strong customer service focus.
- High level of organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload while maintaining concise and accurate audit trails.
