Position - Motor Mechanic (General)
Location – Holden Hill, SA 5088
Salary - $77,000 - $82,000 plus superannuation per annum

THE ROLE:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Motor Mechanic who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service. Working within a busy workshop environment, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a broad range of vehicles while ensuring all work is competed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Conduct vehicle inspections and scheduled servicing in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards, maintaining accurate service records.
· Perform routine and preventive maintenance, including oil and filter changes, brake servicing, suspension repairs, tyre fitting and wheel balancing.
· Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
· Repair or replace worn or faulty components including engines, transmissions, steering systems and braking systems.
· Carry out mechanical repairs and adjustments to ensure vehicles meet safety and operational requirements.
· Test and road-test vehicles after servicing and repairs to confirm issues have been resolved.
· Maintain workshop tools and equipment, ensuring proper operation, routine maintenance and safe storage.
· Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including safe handling of tools, equipment and automotive materials.
· Communicate with workshop staff, management and customers regarding vehicle diagnostics, required repairs and completion of work.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
· Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis (or agreed equivalent).
· Minimum of 3 years (preferably more) post training experience working as a Motor Mechanic in an automotive workshop environment.
· Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical vehicle faults.
· Sound knowledge of automotive systems, workshop tools and diagnostic equipment.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship.
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
· Good organisational and time management skills.
· Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain vehicle issues and repair requirements clearly and professionally to customers.
· Current Full Australian driver’s licence - ESSENTIAL.
· You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.
