Litchfield Outback Resort is located in Batchelor ‘The Gateway to Litchfield National Park’ on Rum Jungle Road, 1 hour from Darwin City. We provide not only fuel and general supplies, but also home cooked meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We are looking for a Chef, with a minimum of 2 years' experience, to join our friendly team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and cooking food.
- Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen, abiding by all Workplace Health, Safety & Hygiene regulations at all times.
- Maintaining food quality and presentation under pressure.
- Serving meals to customers when required.
- Keeping abreast of food trends and seasonal produce available.
- Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality.
- Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment.
- Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities.
- Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements.
- Ensuring all grooming standards are met in relation to personal grooming and uniform presentation.
- Promptly reporting maintenance and safety issues and ensure they are corrected.
Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner this is a busy role and requires someone who is reliable, works well under pressure and can lead and supervise a team of people to ensure high quality food is always being served to our customers. You must be able to work well in a team environment. You will also have the following:
- Minimum AQF Certificate 3 Commercial Cookery;
- very good food product knowledge; and
- an understanding of high-level food / catering production.
