FNQ Volunteers Inc is seeking a female Aged Care Volunteer Visitor to provide companionship to an Italian‑speaking woman living with Dementia in a residential aged care in Gordonvale (4865).
She is a warm and friendly resident who would greatly benefit from regular social connection in her first language.
Visits with someone living with dementia can require patience, understanding and a calm, reassuring approach.
About the role:
- Visit weekly or fortnightly to reduce loneliness and provide meaningful social engagement
- Chat in Italian, share simple activities, going for a walk
Volunteer requirements:
- Female, 18+
- Fluent in Italian
- Patient, empathetic and enjoys spending time with older people
- Reliable, flexible and able to complete orientation and required training
