We are seeking a highly capable and professional Executive Assistant to provide executive and personal support to a retired Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia.
This is a unique opportunity to work closely with one of Australia's most distinguished legal figures, supporting a diverse range of professional commitments, engagements and activities across Australia and internationally.
As the Executive Assistant, you will be the central point of coordination and support, ensuring the smooth and efficient management of the retired Chief Justice's professional affairs. Working with a high degree of autonomy, discretion and sound judgement, you will manage a dynamic schedule, coordinate competing priorities and liaise confidently with senior stakeholders across government, the legal profession, academia, the not-for-profit sector and the broader community.
Success in this role will require exceptional organisational skills, strong written and verbal communication abilities, and a proactive approach to managing priorities and anticipating needs. You will be trusted to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and confidentiality, while providing high-quality administrative and executive support.
This is a role of significant responsibility and trust, offering the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing professional work and public engagements of a respected national figure. It will suit an experienced Executive Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced environment, exercises sound judgement, and takes pride in delivering exceptional support.
This is a part-time role working 3 days per week.
How you can help us make a difference
You will play a critical role in supporting the retired Chief Justice's professional commitments by:

managing a complex diary, correspondence and inbox, ensuring priorities are effectively coordinated and actioned

preparing and coordinating high-quality documentation, briefing materials, speeches and meeting papers

building and maintaining productive relationships with senior stakeholders across government, the legal profession and the broader community

coordinating meetings, events and domestic and international travel arrangements

managing records, financial and administrative processes to support the effective operation of the office

anticipating issues, identifying risks and implementing practical solutions to support business outcomes and continuous improvement.

- proven experience providing executive support to senior leaders in a complex or high-profile environment

exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure

strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional correspondence and stakeholder communications

excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and exercise discretion when handling sensitive matters
