Hestia Joinery is seeking a skilled and experienced Cabinet Maker to join our growing team. The successful applicant will manufacture, assemble, install, repair and refurbish high-quality cabinetry and furniture for residential and commercial projects while maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
· Examine drawings, work orders and sample parts to determine job specifications.
· Select and work with timber, veneers, particle board, synthetic wood and other engineered wood products.
· Program and operate computer-aided design (CAD) and computer numerical control (CNC) machinery to mark out, cut and shape components.
· Manufacture cabinets and furniture in accordance with drawings and specifications.
· Install cabinetry in kitchens, bathrooms and commercial fit-out projects.
· Manufacture fittings for boats, caravans and other projects requiring fine detail.
· Assemble cabinet and furniture components into completed products.
· Apply protective coatings and finishes to cabinets and furniture.
· Fit hinges, locks, catches, drawers, shelves and other associated hardware.
· Construct frames for chairs, couches and other furniture items.
· Manufacture reproduction furniture where required.
· Repair and refurbish furniture, including antique furniture.
· Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety procedures and quality standards.
Skills and Qualifications
· Certificate III in Cabinet Making
· Minimum of one to two years' relevant post-qualification experience as a Cabinet Maker.
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
· Experience operating woodworking machinery, CAD and CNC equipment.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
· Good communication, organisational and time management skills.
Pay: $80,000.00 – $82,000.00 per year
