The Role:
Join Tassal in Proserpine as a Paddlewheel Technician and take ownership of maintaining and servicing the aeration systems for our prawn farm. This is a hands-on role where you will be the backbone of our pond health, ensuring our paddlewheels operate at peak efficiency to keep our prawns thriving.
Based in a stunning location halfway between Airlie Beach and Bowen, you’ll enjoy a lifestyle roster (2/2/3) that gives you plenty of time to explore the beautiful Whitsundays.
This is a full-time, fixed-term contract position running until the end of March 2026.
What You’ll Do:

Keep paddlewheels running smoothly to ensure efficient aeration and oxygen flow for our prawns.

Complete, monitor, and report on paddlewheel inspections in line with strict procedures.

Regularly clean paddlewheels to meet operational standards and maintain water quality.

Follow all safety regulations and procedures while completing tasks.

Assist with additional farm duties as required to support the broader aquaculture team.
What You’ll Bring:
We are looking for someone who is mechanically minded, physically fit, and comfortable working outdoors in and around water. To succeed in this role, you will need:

Ability to lift heavy objects and work in/around water environments.

Aquaculture or agriculture experience is highly desirable, but if you have a good work ethic and a knack for fixing things, we want to hear from you!

Basic tech skills (tasks are assigned via iPad).

Valid Australian driver’s licence (essential).

Current rights to work in Australia.

Successful completion of pre-employment medical and drug screening.
