We are seeking a passionate and motivated Speech Pathologist to join our team as an independent contractor.
About the Role:
As a Contractor Speech Pathologist, you will provide assessment and intervention services to NDIS participants across a variety of settings, including:
- Homes
- Schools
- Childcare centres
- Community settings
- Telehealth (when appropriate)
You will manage your own caseload while working collaboratively with our Occupational Therapist and support team to provide holistic, client-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech pathology assessments.
- Develop individualised therapy plans based on client goals.
- Deliver evidence-based therapy interventions.
- Complete high-quality clinical documentation, including progress notes and reports.
- Communicate effectively with families, support coordinators, schools, and other professionals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary collaboration when required.
- Maintain accurate records in the practice management system.
- Ensure compliance with NDIS requirements, professional standards, and relevant legislation.
Client Groups:
You may work with participants presenting with:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Global Developmental Delay (GDD)
- Intellectual Disability
- ADHD
- Developmental Language Disorder
- Speech sound disorders
- Social communication difficulties
- Feeding and swallowing (if competent)
- Adults with neurological or acquired conditions (depending on experience)
Essential Criteria:
- Degree in Speech Pathology.
- Eligible for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
- Current Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status or eligibility.
- Current Australian driver's license and reliable vehicle.
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
- Current National Police Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance.
- ABN.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently.
Desirable:
- Experience working with NDIS participants.
- Experience in paediatrics and/or adult disability.
- Experience completing assessments and reports.
- Knowledge of AAC.
- Experience with mealtime management (where appropriate).
- Experience providing therapy within schools and childcare settings.

Contractor Requirements:
As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for:
- Managing your own tax and superannuation obligations.
- Maintaining your own professional registrations and insurances.
- Providing your own vehicle, laptop, and mobile phone.
- Maintaining compliance with professional and NDIS requirements.
Remuneration:
Competitive contractor rates based on experience and services provided.
Pay: From $80.00 per hour
