About the role
We are seeking an experienced Principal Psychologist to provide clinical leadership across Forensicare’s Regional Forensic Mental Health Service (RFMHS). This role has no direct reports but carries significant professional influence and responsibility for guiding high-quality psychological practice across the service.
The position is based at the Paul Mullen Centre hub in Clifton Hill, with a requirement to travel to other locations, as agreed with the RFMHS Operations Manager, in order to support statewide service consistency, capability and skill building, and integration across teams.
You will oversee the delivery of evidence based practice interventions, maintain oversight of service quality, and provide expert consultation on complex cases. In addition you will also lead quality improvement initiatives that support safe community reintegration, and, in collaboration with the Lead Psychologist, develop processes that ensure the ongoing, responsive delivery of best practice service provision, both within the RFMHS teams, and the organisation more broadly.
What You Will Bring
You are an accomplished psychologist with a strong track record in forensic or clinical mental health settings. You bring deep expertise, leadership capability, and a commitment to evidence based, person centred practice.
Specifically, you will bring:
- General registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
- Masters or Doctoral level qualifications in clinical psychology, forensic psychology or clinical neuropsychology, with corresponding Area of Practice Endorsement and Board Approved Supervisor status
- Extensive experience as a senior psychologist in a mental health or forensic mental health setting
- Demonstrated capability in clinical leadership, provision of supervision and facilitation of training
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
