NASCA's mission is to empower young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to be proud, strong, and successful. Through cultural connection and community support, we're building a foundation of pride and opportunity for future generations. Our programs tap into the power of culture and education to foster growth, achievement, and connection. Proudly 100% Indigenous-led, NASCA is driving real change in our communities.
Are you a compliance and operations professional who wants to know that your work actually matters? As our Operations & Compliance Manager, you'll bring the technical depth and systems thinking that keeps NASCA running safely and efficiently allowing our teams on the ground to focus on what they do best: showing up for our young people.
This is a hybrid role based out of our Redfern office. You'll join a highly collaborative People & Operations team and will provide guidance and leadership to one direct report. This role will see you support a dispersed, multi-site workforce all across NSW. From owning our HRIS and WHS frameworks to managing fleet, assets, and policies, you'll be the person who makes sure nothing falls through the cracks.
This is a role for someone who takes genuine pride in getting the details right, and who wants that rigour to serve a purpose bigger than a bottom line.
- Compliance Ownership: Manage end-to-end workforce compliance processes (WWCC, probity checks, First Aid, MHFA) and maintain audit-ready records across the organisation's footprint.
- HR Systems & Data: Own and manage Employment Hero (our HRIS), ensuring data integrity, supporting staff with platform access, and generating workforce analytics to inform decision-making.
- WHS Leadership: Act as NASCA's primary WHS expert, conducting risk assessments, developing safety protocols, managing incidents, and embedding a genuine culture of safety including psychosocial risk.
- Policy Development: Lead the development and review of workplace policies and procedures through a cultural lens, ensuring they're legislatively sound and clearly communicated to staff.
- Operational & Asset Management: Oversee NASCA's tech assets, fleet, and apparel. From managing vendor relationships, lifecycle processes to compliance to protect organisational assets.
- Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Contribute to board-level reporting, track workforce and compliance metrics, and drive process improvements that make operations smoother for everyone.
You're a technically sharp, purpose-driven operator who brings:
-
3+ years' experience in an HR, compliance, or operations management role
- Hands-on experience managing an HRIS platform (Employment Hero or similar)
- Solid knowledge of Australian employment legislation, WHS regulations, and governance frameworks
- People management experience
- A systematic, process-driven approach with a record of building systems that last
- The ability to manage competing priorities across a dispersed workforce with calm and good judgement
- An understanding of and genuine respect for the experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and a commitment to cultural safety in everything you do
- Working with Children Check and AFP clearance (or willingness to obtain)
Join a team where your technical expertise directly enables the work of an organisation that has supported over 17,000 young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people since 1995. At NASCA, compliance isn't just about ticking boxes, it's about protecting people and building the operational backbone that lets our programs thrive.
We offer:

- 4 weeks annual leave

- 1 day cultural or ceremonial leave per year
- Employee Assistance Program
