About the role
This is an exceptional opportunity to lead one of Council's most influential and impactful functions.
As Manager City Projects, you will provide strategic leadership for the planning, design and delivery of a diverse portfolio of major projects, community facilities, open space improvements, recreational assets, public domain upgrades and city-shaping infrastructure initiatives.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will lead a high-performing multidisciplinary team responsible for delivering complex and high-profile projects from concept to completion. You will oversee significant capital investment programs, provide trusted strategic advice to the Executive Leadership Team and work closely with government agencies, community stakeholders and industry partners to achieve outstanding outcomes for the Bayside community.

In this role you will:
- Lead the successful delivery of Council's capital works and strategic infrastructure portfolio.
- Drive major and complex projects from concept planning through design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
- Provide strategic advice to the General Manager, Executive Leadership Team and Council on project priorities, risks and investment opportunities.
- Manage significant capital budgets and ensure strong governance, financial stewardship and project performance.
- Build productive relationships with government agencies, funding bodies, industry partners, community stakeholders and elected representatives.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of project professionals, fostering innovation, accountability and excellence in project delivery.
About you
You are a respected infrastructure and project delivery leader with a demonstrated track record delivering major capital projects and leading multidisciplinary teams in complex and challenging environments.
You combine strategic thinking with strong commercial acumen and are comfortable operating at both the executive and operational levels. You are an influential leader who can build trusted relationships, navigate political and stakeholder complexities and consistently deliver outstanding outcomes for communities.
You will bring:
- Extensive experience leading major capital works, infrastructure or construction programs.
- Demonstrated success delivering complex, high-value and high-profile projects.
- Strong financial, governance, procurement and contract management expertise.
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
