Senior Lead Support Worker / (Hybrid Role)

About the Role
KOOKI is seeking an experienced Senior Support Worker to join our growing team.
This is a hands on leadership role ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with participants while also supporting and mentoring other support workers in the field.
You will support children, adolescents, and adults with varying support needs, including participants who may present with behaviours of concern, psychosocial disabilities, or complex support requirements. Alongside providing direct supports, you will help promote safe, consistent, and high quality service delivery across your allocated participants and team.
What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver person centred supports in home and community settings
- Support participants to achieve their NDIS goals and increase independence
- Implement Behaviour Support Plans and therapeutic recommendations
- Assist with community access, skill development, and daily living activities
- Monitor participant wellbeing and manage risks proactively
- Provide guidance and support to other frontline staff
- Assist with onboarding and shadow shifts for new team members
- Liaise with families, support coordinators, and allied health professionals
- Maintain accurate progress notes and documentation
- Promote participant rights, dignity, choice, and safety
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced supporting participants with complex needs
- Confident implementing Behaviour Support Plans
- Calm, professional, and solution-focused
- A natural mentor and positive role model
- Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of people with disability
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years (full time) experience or 5 years (part time) in disability support or a related field
- Experience supporting behaviours of concern and complex presentations
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working With Children Check
- Current First Aid & CPR
- National Police Check
- Driver Licence and reliable vehicle
- Full Australian working rights
Highly Regarded
- Qualifications in Disability, Community Services, Nursing, Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline
- Previous leadership or senior support worker experience
- Experience working within therapeutic or trauma informed environments
