The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Urgent Care team. In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing support to patients presenting to the Urgent Care Centre while working collaboratively with triaging clinicians, medical practitioners, and the broader healthcare team.
As an Urgent Care Support Registered Nurse, you will play a key role in supporting safe and efficient patient flow, delivering frontline clinical care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring patients receive exceptional care throughout their urgent care journey.

Your Responsibilities
- Support patient flow within the Urgent Care Centre under the direction of the triaging clinician and medical team.
- Conduct clinical assessments and nursing care activities within scope of practice and competency.
- Escalate patient deterioration, clinical concerns, or changes in presentation promptly to the triaging clinician and/or medical practitioner.
- Assist with patient preparation, coordination of investigations, pathology, and imaging requirements.
- Deliver high-quality patient care including wound care, plastering, vaccinations, procedural assistance, and post-procedure care.
- Administer medications, IV antibiotics, and fluids in accordance with policies, procedures, and clinical direction.
- Provide patient education and aftercare instructions to support positive health outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical documentation.
- Ensure treatment rooms and clinical areas remain clean, stocked, compliant, and ready for patient care.
- Collaborate effectively with Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Paramedics, Medical Practitioners, and allied health providers.
- Participate in emergency response and escalation processes within scope of practice.
- Support workplace health and safety initiatives by identifying hazards and reporting incidents appropriately.
Please note: This role does not independently perform triage, ATS allocation, or front-desk triage decision-making unless separately approved and credentialed by the business.
About You
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Bachelor of Nursing qualification.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in primary healthcare, emergency, urgent care, ICU, CCU, rural or remote nursing environments.
- Demonstrated experience providing direct clinical nursing care in fast-paced settings.
- Strong clinical assessment, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to recognise patient deterioration and escalate appropriately.
- Experience in wound management, cannulation, vaccinations, and procedural support is highly regarded.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong time management, organisation, and prioritisation skills.
- Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
