About the role
The Senior Policy Officer manages and coordinates the development and implementation of a range of policy initiatives to support agency and/or government commitments.
The Infrastructure Reporting team within School Infrastructure plays a critical role in supporting the management and oversight of NSW’s largest public education infrastructure investment. This team drives accurate and timely reporting on infrastructure projects and manages governance secretariat functions to ensure effective decision-making and compliance. By delivering robust governance frameworks, reliable data, and insightful analysis, the team enables senior leadership and governance bodies to monitor progress, assess risks, and make informed strategic decisions that contribute to providing high-quality education facilities for every school-aged child in NSW.
About you
- Supports leadership in managing governance secretariat functions
- Coordinates infrastructure reporting to inform strategic decisions
- Contributes to governance framework development and policy updates
- Prepares insightful reports and briefings for senior leadership
- Drives improvements in governance and reporting practices
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated equivalent experience working in a policy environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
