Key Areas of Responsibility
This position has regular part-time hours across the school week. Teaching Assistants are not required to
work during school holidays except for some Professional Learning (PL) in January each year.
Teaching Assistants are responsible to the Principal through the Head of School and the Business Manager.
The Principal determines the employment details, and day to day duties are negotiated with the Learning
Support Teachers.
> Provide support and assistance to teaching staff as directed.
> Provide learning support for student/s, both in class and one on one.
> Be responsible to Learning Support Teacher.
> Work in a team with teachers and other Teaching Assistants in the development, implementation and
evaluation of Learning Support programs.
> Attend staff meetings, professional learning conferences and devotions as required.
> Participate in school activities requiring staff involvement.
> Other duties as directed.
> Contribute to a safe and healthy workplace by:
> Following Work Health and Safety instructions and policies.
> Reporting accidents and hazards.
> Generally caring for own safety and that of others, including visitors, students, parents
> and volunteers that may possibly be affected by actions or inaction.

Other duties
> Participate in and support the faith community of the School through prayer and communal worship
activities.
> Model the faith and values of the School in interactions with colleagues, students, parents and the
wider community.
> Attend staff meetings on days when rostered to attend for work.
> Attend the annual whole staff retreat.
> Attend devotions on days and times when at work. All staff are welcome to voluntarily attend staff
devotions outside of their allocated work times.
> Participate in school activities requiring staff participation.
> Other duties as required.
Selection Criteria
> A committed Christian and regular church attender.
> Good understanding of, and commitment to, the mission and philosophy of the School.
> Ability to show interest in the wellbeing of students as well as their social, spiritual and academic
development.
> Ability to support the learning of students as directed by the teaching staff.
