About the Role:
As a CBRE Data Center Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a Data Center operation.
This job is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments. What You’ll Do:
Assist with daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance.
Ensure the site's environmental conditions provide a safe work environment.
React to Building Management System alarms, and complete emergency repairs as needed.
Work with third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with company-developed processes, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
Alert management if subcontractor performance doesn’t meet all requirements per the Master Service Agreement.
Complete planned preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance on all equipment.
Check BMS for running and alarm conditions and respond to HVAC-related client problems.
Building walkthroughs, taking meter readings from UPS, PDU’s and utilities.
Provide fixes to facility and plant faults and defects.
Complete assigned work according to established processes and procedures. Follow all safety processes and requirements and ensure all regulatory requirements and quality standards are met. Conduct routine quality checks for comprehensive maintenance records.
Complete all required training to ensure successful completion of all job-related responsibilities.
Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.
Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail.
Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance. What You'll need:
Essential • Must understand all the associated safety code related requirements relative to providing the service. Experience with Health & Safety Risk Assessments and Control Measures • Experience of maintaining critical & temperature control conditioned environments • Detailed understanding and experience of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Fuel Systems, Switchgear, UPS systems, Battery banks, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Air handling units, chilled water systems, Fire Alarm systems, and Fire Suppression systems (pre-action sprinklers). • Prior exposure to maintenance scheduling and subcontractor management and supervision • Strong understanding of ticketing or workflow management systems and tools • Experience of managing escalation and emergency issues • NSW Electrical License is required. Minimum Certificate III Electrotechnology Electrician OR Certificate III Airconditioning & Refrigeration with ARC License • Good building services knowledge • Good Customer relationship skills • Working knowledge of “Permit to work” systems • Understand and interpret technical drawings / processes • Experience of CMMS and BMS systems • “Unless otherwise advised, CBRE data centre sites require Australian Citizenship and on request from our customers participating in a government clearance process and holding a government clearance up to NV1 is required”.
