Key Relationships
The Sports and Swimming Centre Manager reports to the Director of
Marketing and Communications. This role works closely with the Venue
Services Coordinator, Swim School Team, School’s Facilities Manager,
PE staff, Property Services and other staff. Ultimately responsible to the
Principal via the Director of Business Operations.
Position Objective:
The Sports and Swimming Centre Manager plays a pivotal role in managing the profitable, safe and efficient
operation of the Sports and Swimming Centre (SSC), with the centre open for School and private hire activities
7-days per week, across the entire year. This includes:
- The WestSwim Swim School program (attended by 1100+ swimmers);
- Commercial clients using the indoor courts, pool (lane hire) and other facilities outside of times
required by the School; and
- Westminster School students and families in respect of its curricular and co-curricular programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all aspects of running operations within the SSC, including:
1. Overall Management
• Responsible for accurate and responsible implementation and management of the SSC and Swim
School budgets with input and oversight from the Director of Marketing and Communications.
- Responsible for revenue collection of all private hire income within the SSC and other facilities.
- Responsible for all client service levels and management of the CRM systems and other calendar
management protocols.
- Undertake line management responsibilities for SSC Attendants and Swim School Staff
(instructors and other roles as required) including recruitment and induction, training,
development, and rostering.
- Lead, manage and develop the Venue Services Coordinator to support the operations of the SSC,
Swim School and other private hire clients and spaces effectively and efficiently.
- Create a work environment for all staff directly or indirectly involved with the operation of the
SSC that facilitates high levels of engagement, discretionary effort, teamwork, and development.
- Provide oversight, support, and guidance to the team, promoting the development and
maintenance of a service culture.
