Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and growth-oriented Business Development and Strategy Manager to join our team. In this role, you will partner closely with a designated colleague to co-manage the daily operations of GOAT Lab Basketball, while taking the absolute lead on our development and strategic direction. Your primary mandate will be business growth, brand expansion, and the commercialization of our basketball programs, leagues, and products.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Growth & Commercialization: Drive the strategic direction of the business, focusing heavily on brand expansion, revenue generation, and commercializing new basketball products and services.
- Collaborative Operations Management: Work collaboratively with an operational colleague to oversee the daily logistics of GOAT Lab Basketball leagues, tournaments, and events.
- Program Enhancement: Lead the enhancement and expansion of player development programs, training camps, and classes to ensure top-tier quality and profitability.
- Team Leadership: Manage and guide staff and coaching personnel to align with the company’s operational and strategic goals.
- Business Development: Identify and execute new business opportunities, sponsorships, partnerships, and market expansions within the basketball industry.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Educational & Professional Background: A background or degree in Sports Management, Digital Marketing, Business Development, or a related field.
- Marketing Savvy: Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, social media growth, and campaign execution to effectively drive event and league registrations.
- Commercial Mindset: Proven track record or strong capability in business growth, asset commercialization, or sports event management.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional collaborative and communication skills, with the ability to co-manage operations seamlessly alongside a partner.
- Industry Passion: A deep passion for and understanding of the basketball landscape is highly preferred.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the 3-Month Period
To successfully pass the initial contract period, the candidate must achieve the following:
- League Growth: Successfully recruit a minimum of 24 teams to participate in the GOAT League Winter 2026 season.
- Event Profitability: Successfully organize, launch, and execute one (1) Basketball Training Camp, ensuring the event generates a net profit.
Note: If these KPIs are achieved ahead of schedule, the monthly salary and future contract structures are open for immediate review and negotiation.Additional Terms
- Non-Compete & Confidentiality: Due to the strategic and proprietary nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to sign a non-compete and confidentiality agreement upon accepting the final offer.
