Role Type: 12-month full time contract
Salary: $160,000 p.a plus superannuation
The opportunity:
We are seeking a Cloud Data Engineer to join Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) and support the cloud and data infrastructure underpinning the Generation Victoria (GenV) research program. This role will work across AWS, MuleSoft, data engineering and DevOps to build, maintain and continuously improve secure, scalable cloud services, integrations and data pipelines that support world-leading health research.
What you’ll do
Collaborate within MCRI to operate, optimise and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure to meet GenV’s evolving needs
Administer and monitor MuleSoft integrations end to end, including build configuration, source control and deployment
Design, build and maintain scalable data transformation and integration pipelines
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting GenV’s technical and scientific objectives
What you’ll bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or a related field; or equivalent industry experience
3–5 years’ experience managing AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2, ECS, RDS, S3, Athena, Glue, Fargate, Lake Formation, API Gateway and Lambda
Experience in data engineering, ETL and data warehousing
Experience developing and deploying system integrations, ideally familiar with MuleSofts Anypoint Platform
Hands-on experience with DevOps and IaC tools such as GitLab, Docker, Terraform and Artifactory
