We are seeking a results-oriented Site Manager to join our team in Melbourne office. This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. You will serve as the primary leader on the ground, coordinating trades and maintaining strict adherence to Australian building codes and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Site Operations: Direct all on-site activities, ensuring work progresses according to the project schedule and technical specifications.
- WHS & Compliance: Implement and enforce Work Health and Safety (WHS) protocols in line with Australian state regulations (e.g., SafeWork). Conduct inductions, safety audits, and maintain a culture of "Safety First."
- Subcontractor Coordination: Lead and manage subcontractors and various trades, ensuring their work meets quality benchmarks and timeline milestones.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections to ensure all construction meets the National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian Standards.
- Budget & Material Management: Monitor on-site expenses, oversee material deliveries, and manage resources to minimize waste and prevent delays.
- Liaison & Reporting: Act as the main point of contact for stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and local council authorities. Maintain detailed site diaries and provide regular progress updates to management.
Requirements
- Australian Experience: Significant experience managing construction sites specifically within the Australian residential sector.
- Mandatory Licensing: Must hold a valid General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Education: A Certificate IV or Diploma in Building and Construction, or a bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience working in Victorian residential sector.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage diverse teams, resolve site conflicts, and maintain high morale under tight deadlines.
- Software Proficiency: Experience using construction management software to track project progress.
