The Project
ACCIONA has been selected to deliver Western Harbour Tunnel – Stage 2, Sydney’s third harbour crossing. The new Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) will connect to WestConnex at the Rozelle Interchange, cross underneath Sydney Harbour between Birchgrove and Waverton, and connect with the Warringah Freeway near North Sydney.
Project scope includes:
Construction of approximately 4.8 kilometres of mainline tunnels with three lanes in each direction
Civil, Mechanical and Electrical fitout of Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunnels
Surface level work, including on and off ramps and tie-in work to the Warringah Freeway
Key accountabilities for the position:
Lead TBM shift crews to meet safety, quality and production targets
Drive a Zero Harm mindset through strong safety leadership
Plan and brief daily shift work with engineers and superintendent
Allocate labour, plant and subcontractors to optimise each shift
Monitor TBM operations and act quickly to resolve issues
Maintain accurate dockets, diaries, timesheets and shift reports
Support continuous improvement in methods, housekeeping and cost control
Required Skills and Competencies
Capability & Experience you will need to have:
Prior experience in a similar capacity
Segmental tunnel and Slurry experience preferred
Available to work various roster
Proven ability to operate in a dynamic environment meeting significant program challenges.
Experience in Safety, Community and Environmental Management
Ability to drive performance, lead and manage teams
