We are a Brisbane-based, NDIS registered provider delivering daily living assistance, community participation and Supported Independent Living (SIL). We are growing, and we are looking for a couple of exceptional support workers to grow with us.
About the role
As a Support Worker with Care Heroes, you will work with older Australians and people with disability in their homes and out in the community. No two days are the same. Your work may include:
- Assistance with personal care, medication prompting and daily living tasks
- Supporting participants to get out into the community: shopping, appointments, social activities and hobbies
- Meal preparation and light household assistance
- Building skills, confidence and independence in SIL settings
- Transporting participants safely to activities and appointments
- Keeping clear, accurate shift notes and communicating with our friendly office team
You will have a consistent roster with guaranteed hours, real support from management, and participants you get to know properly over time.
What we are looking for
Essential:
- Genuine passion for supporting people to live independently and with dignity
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
- Working with Children Check / Blue Card (or willingness to obtain)
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- Australian driver's licence and a reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle
- Smartphone for rostering and shift notes
- The right to work in Australia
Highly regarded:
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Ageing Support, Disability or similar
- Experience with personal care, manual handling or complex support needs
- Experience in SIL or aged care environments
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module completion
