We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Team Leader In this role, you will be responsible for leading a small team of server engineers dedicated to the Core Modernisation Transition Team. The individual will provide technical leadership as well as day-to-day management to support operational tasks and ensure work their teams' outputs or services are effectively delivered on time.
About the role
Take ownership of newly built greenfield infrastructure, helping mature and operate a modern compute platform rather than inheriting a legacy stack
Work within a squad structure that supports autonomy, shared ownership and meaningful input into technical outcomes
Identify opportunities to improve, automate and simplify the compute layer while contributing to strategic platform outcomes
Support the development of engineers across Cisco UCS, Broadcom VMware, RHEL, Windows and Terraform, building capability across the team’s core technology stack
Provide technical guidance and day-to-day coordination for a small team of engineers responsible for all run activities of the new infrastructure
Help define standards, patterns and ways of working that support consistent delivery, automation compliance and improved operational maturity
Encourage a collaborative, improvement-focused team culture where engineers are supported to take ownership, learn and deliver meaningful outcomes
About you
Working knowledge and previous experience across Cisco UCS, Broadcom VMware, RHEL, Windows and Terraform
Adaptable to changing requirements, priorities, working styles and leadership needs
Comfortable working through complex problems and identifying practical pathways to resolution
Able to define clear pathways, structure outcomes and create direction for a team in complex or evolving environments
Skilled at supporting, guiding and coordinating others, including helping set goals and prioritise work to achieve delivery and operational outcomes
Strong vendor management capability, including negotiation skills and the ability to build effective relationships with technology partners
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to bring stakeholders and teams together around shared outcomes
