Cook Wanted - Join Our Team at the Boatshed Brew Cafe in Oxenford!
We're looking for an experienced and confident Cook to join our busy lakeside cafe.
This role is ideal for someone who is capable of working solo, managing a small kitchen efficiently and producing consistently great food during busy breakfast & lunch services.
This role is on a casual basis 2 days per week with the potential of more hours. The days required are Friday and one day in the weekend.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a small variety of meals according to recipe specifications and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen stations, equipment and work areas
- Follow food safety and hygiene protocols consistently to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Plate dishes attractively and ensure timely delivery to the service team
- Assist with general kitchen maintenance and deep cleaning as required
What we're looking for
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a fast-paced kitchen or hospitality environment
- Basic food preparation and cooking skills with the ability to follow recipes accurately
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain quality during busy service periods
- Attention to detail and pride in presenting food to a high standard
- Valid Australian work visa or eligibility to work in Australia
- Flexibility to work casual hours including weekends
