Working closely with academics, professional staff, and students, you'll oversee the planning and delivery of laboratory-based teaching activities, ensuring facilities, equipment, and resources are prepared to support exceptional learning experiences. You'll lead a team of technical staff, coordinate day-to-day operations, and provide expert guidance across a range of biomedical science disciplines, including immunology, genetics, molecular biology and biochemistry.

You are an experienced technical professional who combines strong scientific knowledge with excellent organisational and people skills. You enjoy leading and supporting teams, coordinating complex activities, and ensuring teaching laboratories and practical learning environments operate effectively and safely.
Highly organised and proactive, you can juggle competing priorities, anticipate issues before they arise, and work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders. You communicate clearly, build strong relationships, and bring a practical, solutions-focused mindset to everything you do.
Most importantly, you are committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and high-performing team culture, enabling both staff and students to succeed.
Key attributes include:
-
Strong technical expertise in biomedical science or a related discipline, ideally including experience with advanced scientific techniques including cell culture, molecular biology, genetics, or biochemistry.
-
Demonstrated experience leading and developing technical teams to deliver laboratory-based teaching while fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
-
Exceptional organisational, planning, and communication skills, with the ability to anticipate needs, coordinate complex activities, and build trusted stakeholder relationships.
