Our modern machine shop in Capalaba (Brisbane’s Bayside) produces high‑precision, tight‑tolerance components that power world‑class thermal‑management solutions.
The Role – CNC Milling (3-Axis, 4‑Axis & 5‑Axis)
Join our growing milling cells and help deliver one‑off and low‑volume precision components to exacting standards. You will:
- Set up, prove, and operate CNC milling machines (vertical & horizontal machining centres).
- Program at the machine (G‑code / CAD/CAM) and optimise tooling & fixturing.
- Inspect parts against 3D models and 2D engineering drawings to tight tolerances using best‑practice metrology.
- Create and follow workshop documentation and standard work.
- Support and supervise Trades Assistants (TAs) as required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement—trial, validate, and document new tooling, fixturing, and machining techniques.
- Maintain machines and a clean, safe, ISO‑compliant workspace.
Shifts: Day shift and Afternoon shift available (full‑time). Overtime opportunities.
About You
You’re a motivated team player who takes pride in precision machining and quality. You have:
- Trade qualification (essential).
- Experience in a similar CNC machining environment (milling focus).
- Ability to program at the machine (G‑code / Mastercam or similar).
- Strong inspection capability against 3D models / 2D drawings to tight tolerances.
- Experience with one‑off / prototype / low‑volume work.
- Australian working rights (Birth Certificate, Passport, Visa, or Citizenship).
Highly regarded:
- Experience on 4‑axis horizontal machining centres and/or 5‑axis machining centres.
- Familiarity with Mastercam
- Exposure to Mikron / DMG / Okuma machines
- Exposure to Heidenhain and Fanuc controls
- Background in defence, aerospace, or high‑precision engineering.
