We are seeking highly driven and innovative Human Resource Director to join our Conduct and Reviews (CAR) team, delivering strategic leadership across complex organisational environments.
As a Human Resource Director, you will lead a large, specialist, geographically dispersed team to manage code of conduct investigations, reviews of employment actions and alternate dispute resolution processes. You will have accountability for ATO policy and procedures and exercise a range of HR delegations to ensure consistent, fair and legally sound outcomes.
You will play a key role within the Working Well leadership team, collaborating with colleagues across ATO People, senior leaders, the Office of General Counsel, integrity bodies and external agencies to ensure our efforts are fit for purpose and impactful. In this influential role, you will provide strategic advice and lead coordinated resolution strategies that deliver fair, defensible and people-centred outcomes while balancing organisational, legal and employee considerations.
This is a unique opportunity to apply exceptional leadership, judgement and analytical expertise in a dynamic and often complex environment. You will navigate ambiguity with confidence, influence senior stakeholders, and help shape a culture grounded in accountability, transparency and respect.
By leading work that directly supports workforce integrity and organisational trust, you will play a critical role in fostering a safe, productive and high-performing workplace. Your leadership will contribute to upholding the ATO's values and strengthening the confidence that the Australian community places in us every day.
This role may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis in Adelaide, Albury, Box Hill (VIC), Brisbane CBD, Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne CBD, Moonee Ponds, Newcastle, Parramatta, Penrith, Perth, Sydney CBD, Upper Mount Gravatt or Wollongong.
We embrace the strength of diversity – through our people and the perspectives they bring.
We are committed to inclusive recruitment practices and encourage applications from people with disability or neurodivergence, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and individuals from all backgrounds. Reasonable adjustments can be provided throughout the recruitment process.
