Registered Nurse – Clinical Lead (Disability and Aged Care)

Position Overview
- Salary: $86,931 – $99,450 per year (commensurate with experience and qualifications)

- Reports To: Operations Manager
About the Role
As the Registered Nurse – Clinical Lead, you will oversee the clinical care and management of our clients to ensure services meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
You will lead, mentor, and support a team of healthcare workers, coordinate care across multiple service settings, and ensure clinical practices align seamlessly with NDIS and Aged Care standards. This role balances clinical oversight with strategic quality improvement, driving initiatives that uphold our clients' well-being, independence, and dignity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Clinical Governance
- Lead, manage, and mentor the nursing and care teams, providing strong clinical oversight.
- Actively participate as a member of the management team, contributing to strategic decision-making and resource management.
- Monitor and evaluate clinical practices to ensure strict compliance with professional nursing regulations.
- Act as the escalation and decision-making point for complex clinical cases.
2. Quality, Compliance & Care Coordination
- Ensure all service delivery aligns with NDIS and Aged Care Quality Standards, relevant legislation, and internal policies.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives, including internal audits, risk assessments, and incident/complaint management.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and regular review of individualised, person-centred care plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate seamless care across residential, community, and in-home settings.
3. Staff Development & Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate, facilitate, and evaluate staff training programs and conduct regular performance appraisals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local healthcare networks, hospital discharge planners, government agencies, and support groups to promote our services.
- Represent the organisation in clinical forums, committees, and professional networks.
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications & Requirements
- Registration: Current, unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Certifications: Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) and CPR Certificate (HLTAID009).
- Licence: Current Full Driver’s Licence.
- Checks: Must hold or be willing to obtain a current Police Check, Working with Children Check (WWCC), NDIS Worker Check, and Aged Care Sector Employment Check.
- Postgraduate qualifications or specific experience in the Disability and Aged Care sectors will be highly regarded.
Experience & Skills
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience, including at least 12 months in a leadership or management role (preferably within NDIS or Aged Care frameworks).
- Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of Aged Care Accreditation Standards, NDIS Standards, GP Management Plans, and Health Assessments.
- Clinical Skills: Demonstrated senior-level clinical assessment skills with a background in chronic disease self-management.
- Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and multitasking capabilities.
- Tech Savvy: High-level administrative competencies and strong computer skills for managing clinical documentation systems.
