We are seeking an experienced hands-on Leading Hand / Foreperson with a strong background in steel fabrication and manufacturing to join our team.
About the Role
You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day workshop operations while leading by example. Your responsibilities will include:
- Allocating jobs and supervising daily workloads
- Coordinating and monitoring job progress to ensure deadlines are met
- Monitoring productivity and identifying opportunities to improve workflow
- Conducting quality control and ensuring work meets required standards and specifications
- Working hands-on with steel fabrication and manufacturing
- Maintaining an organised and productive workshop environment
- Assisting with problem-solving and providing practical solutions when challenges arise
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has solid experience in steel fabrication and manufacturing
- Has previous experience as a Leading Hand or Foreperson
- Has a strong understanding of workshop processes, productivity and quality control
- Can accurately assess fabrication requirements, materials, labour and job timeframes
- Has excellent communication and organisational skills
- Has a strong work ethic, positive attitude and commitment to safety
- Is reliable, proactive and able to take ownership of daily workshop operations
