About the role
Chips And Ribs is seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy food retail business in Merrylands, NSW.
As Retail Manager, you will be responsible for managing store operations, supervising and developing staff, maintaining high standards of customer service and store presentation, managing stock and costs, and supporting the overall commercial performance of the business.
This is a full-time, permanent position based at our store at our Merrylands shop.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of the store to ensure efficient and consistent service delivery.
Lead, supervise, train and support store employees to maintain high standards of performance and customer service.
Prepare staff rosters and coordinate staffing requirements according to operational needs and trading periods.
Monitor stock levels, coordinate ordering and maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet customer demand.
Liaise with suppliers and monitor the quality, availability and cost of stock and other store supplies.
Monitor sales performance, operating costs and store expenses to support the profitability of the business.
Assist with budgeting, cost control and financial reporting relating to store operations.
Maintain high standards of customer service and respond professionally to customer enquiries, feedback and complaints.
Ensure the store is clean, organised and presented to a consistently high standard.
Ensure compliance with Australian food safety requirements, safe food handling practices and workplace health and safety requirements.
Implement and maintain operational procedures to support efficient service and consistent product quality.
Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management of staff.
Monitor employee performance and provide ongoing guidance and feedback to the team.
Support sales initiatives, promotions and other activities designed to increase customer engagement and store performance.
Work with the business owners and management to identify opportunities to improve operations, service standards and overall business performance.
Requirements
Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience as a Retail Manager or in a similar management role, preferably within a retail or hospitality environment.
Experience supervising, training and supporting staff in their day-to-day duties.
Strong leadership and customer service skills with a positive and professional approach.
Good organisational, communication and problem-solving skills to support effective store operations.
Experience with general day-to-day store management.
Ability to work effectively and remain organised in a busy, fast-paced environment.
Good understanding of relevant food and workplace health and safety requirements.
