Primary objective
Provide high-level administrative support to the RDPH Pharmacy Department
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide high-level administrative services and advice to the RDPH Pharmacy Department and manage the continuous
improvement of administrative operating processes, procedures and guidelines.
2. Provide secretarial support for NT wide, TERS and departmental medicines management committee meetings.
3. Assist the senior management team with Human Resource management including recruitment, orientation, rostering,
leave, staff development, and performance management.
4. Model and implement methods of analysis and evaluation of dispensary and clinical data to support effective
management decisions.
5. Co-ordinate the preparation and review of reports, briefings and correspondence, including Business Cases and Executive
Memos.
6. Assist in the implementation of new policies and procedures relevant to operations of the Pharmacy department.
7. Follow defined service quality standards, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures relating to the
work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
8. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to clearly
communicate with staff and stakeholders at all levels to exchange appropriate information whilst maintaining
confidentiality and discretion.
2. Exceptional organisation and co-ordination skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
3. A high level of enthusiasm, self-motivation and proven ability to work independently and achieve outcomes within agreed
timeframes.
4. Demonstrated experience in collating, analysing and interpreting information including data to evaluate options, make
recommendations and prepare timely reports.
5. Proven experience in Health and/or public office administration including human resource and financial management.
6. Demonstrated experience in the use of office systems including email, word processing, spreadsheets, travel systems,
and records management in Government or a similar environment.
Desirable
1. Demonstrated experience in Health and Health systems and a good understanding of the front line service delivery
environment.
