About the role
The Manager, Internal Review will lead and manage a team delivering complex internal reviews and assessments ensuring high quality, timely and consistent outcomes that safeguard children and people with a disability. The role will lead significant and sensitive matters, including decisions to confirm or set aside outcomes, and implement systems and controls that support consistent, evidence-based decision making.
The Manager will identify trends and emerging issues to inform continuous improvement, strengthen compliance and promote best practice whilst building team capability through coaching and development.
We are seeking a motivated and resilient person to:

Lead and manage team workload, workflow and performance, providing coaching, mentoring and guidance to build capability and ensure high-quality, consistent outcomes.

Represent the OCG in stakeholder forums and exercise delegated authority as required, supporting effective communication, compliance and service delivery outcomes.

Maintain independence and impartiality in decision-making, ensuring integrity and objectivity of the review function, while adhering to governance, privacy, security and record-keeping requirements.

Apply sound knowledge of legislation, policy and administrative law principles to ensure lawful, consistent, transparent and procedurally fair decisions.
Key knowledge and experience
-
Demonstrated knowledge of, or the ability to quickly acquire, the NSW child protection and/or disability sectors within an administrative law context.

Proven experience in evidence-based, administrative decision-making environments, including interpreting and applying complex legislation, policy and frameworks.

Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to review and synthesise complex or sensitive information from multiple sources to support fair, consistent and defensible decisions.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, objective reports and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
Essential Requirements

Tertiary qualification or equivalent work experience in law, public administration, policy, social work, psychology or another relevant discipline.

All roles associated with the Office of the Children's Guardian are required to have a current NSW Working with Children Check.

Employment at the Office of the Children’s Guardian is subject to the satisfactory completion of security and vetting checks.
