Food Process Worker
We are a family-owned Australian business located in Dandenong making a range of tasty plant-based products.
We are looking for experienced food handlers with kitchen hand or cooking experience to join our team and play a key role in making our products.
About the role
Typical rostered hours are 5:00 am to 1:00 pm Monday to Friday with some flexibility required for early starts, later finishes and adjusted days based on our production requirements.
Working in a small team you will be involved in operating the machines and cooking equipment used for making our products. You will be regularly cleaning, sanitising, and assembling the equipment you use.
You need to be physically fit, enjoy working standing up, have good food hygiene and work safety awareness, and be able to perform the manual handling tasks required.
This is a casual position with the potential to progress to permanent part-time for the right person and subject to availability for employment on an ongoing, regular basis.
Skills and experience
If you are the right person for this role, you
- Will be reliable and available to attend work on a regular basis.
- Will have 1-2 years’ or more experience making food products in a fast-paced work environment, ideally involving mixing, blending, weighing, processing ingredients, cooking and manual packing.
- Experience operating mixers, scales, slicers and dicers, ovens, grills and cleaning and sanitising utensils and equipment,
- Can perform repetitive work tasks without losing focus and maintaining attention to detail.
- Will be easily understood to take and give instructions and share information in English and can accurately read and complete production records.
- Must be committed to food safety, work and health safety and hold a food handler certificate.
Work eligibility
As this is an ongoing role you must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident or hold a visa that has no restriction on the hours or location you can work. It is not suitable for you if you are studying or hold a student visa. Proof of your work rights will be required to process your application.
Job Type: Casual
Pay: $30.40 – $31.24 per hour
