About the Opportunity:
Reporting directly to the Head of Planning, Environment and Sustainability, this position offers extensive exposure and deep collaboration with all local business units, functional teams, and our European-based global teams.
As part of a small, high-impact team, you will support our businesses in achieving our ambitious sustainability goals while maturing our approach to corporate reporting. This is a unique role that bridges the gap between high-level corporate governance and practical, on-the-ground operationalisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development, implementation, and management of climate and nature strategies (incorporating water stewardship and biodiversity) within Holcim Australia and New Zealand.
- Work with each business to translate overarching targets and compliance requirements into practical, operationalised transition projects and data capture processes at the site level.
- Establish and streamline auditable data collection systems for the accurate measurement and reporting of sustainability KPIs, including Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, and essential nature metrics.
- Oversee robust governance and risk mitigation frameworks, embedding climate and nature risks seamlessly into the organisation's broader enterprise risk management (ERM) processes.
- Manage mandatory internal and external sustainability reporting, including leading the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) campaigns.
Who You Are:
- A Master Collaborator: You can communicate clearly and work effectively alongside diverse stakeholders, from site-level operators to European global executives.
- A Framework & Insights Specialist: You excel at turning complex compliance and strategy requirements into clear, functional frameworks. Backed by your experience in establishing streamlined data collection systems, you know how to make data work for the business, not against it.
- Passionate & Driven: You are genuinely invested in sustainable industry, environmental governance, and making a tangible impact.
- A Proactive Problem Solver: You don't wait to be told what to do. You take the initiative, research solutions independently, and are driven to continuously improve how we work.
About your qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, or related fields.
- Credible experience in sustainability related topics.
- Exposure to sustainability disclosure frameworks and carbon accounting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
You will be a hands-on, passionate and customer focused professional with the ability to deal at all levels and have a strong commitment to ensuring a safe work environment.
This is a superb opportunity to build your career within our highly professional team.
