Sitting within the Records Management Services (RMS) team, the Depositions Officer plays a critical role in the prosecution process. Working under the direction of a Depositions Coordinator, you will be responsible for compiling depositions—a key legal document—in a timely and highly accurate manner.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys transitioning traditional, paper-based workflows into modern, digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Compile Depositions: Assess briefs of evidence, redact information as required, and create formatted, bookmarked electronic copies of hand-up briefs and depositions.

Information Distribution: Ensure the correct, secure transfer and distribution of depositions to solicitors, the courts, and defence counsel.

System Maintenance: Update and maintain the OPP's internal records and case management systems.

Continuous Improvement: Identify and support digital and paperless initiatives to help modernise agency workflows.

Administrative Support: Provide general administrative assistance to the broader legal practice as directed.
What We Are Looking For

Administrative Excellence: Proven experience providing administrative support in a complex, confidential, and sensitive environment.

An Eye for Detail: Exceptional focus and attention to detail, with a knack for producing accurate documents under tight deadlines.

Tech-Savvy Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and document assembly software (such as Adobe Pro or Foxit). Experience with electronic document and records management systems is highly desirable.

Adaptability & Teamwork: The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, manage competing priorities, and adapt to digital changes.

Industry Context: Prior experience working within a legal environment or a solid understanding of government processes is preferred, but not mandatory.
