Head Coach – Hybrid & HIT | Premium Brisbane Wellness Hubs
Lead the standard. Develop exceptional coaches. Shape one of Brisbane’s most progressive group training offerings.
We are partnering with one of Australia’s most ambitious integrated fitness and wellness brands to appoint an accomplished Head Coach across its two landmark Brisbane locations in Newstead and West End.
These are not conventional gyms. Across two expansive, multi-level hubs, members experience premium training environments, dedicated Hybrid and HIT studios, advanced performance equipment, recovery and restoration facilities, Pilates, yoga, allied wellness services and a genuine sense of community.
The recently opened West End flagship represents a new benchmark for the brand: a $15 million, four-level fitness and wellness destination and official HYROX Training Club.
The next appointment must be equally significant.
Reporting to the Group Fitness Director, you will lead the day-to-day performance and continued evolution of the Hybrid and HIT offering across both locations. You will influence programming, develop coaches, protect quality, strengthen community and ensure every class reflects the standard expected of a premium wellness environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role for an established coaching professional, not simply an exceptional instructor seeking their first leadership title.
Your impact
You will:
- Deliver exceptional Hybrid and HIT classes, setting the benchmark for technical coaching, professionalism, energy and member connection.
- Own the execution and continued evolution of progressive, balanced programming across strength, conditioning, functional training and HYROX-style capacity.
- Use attendance data, member feedback, coach insights and performance outcomes to continually improve programming and class delivery.
- Complete regular coach observations and a minimum of two formal audits each week, providing clear feedback and structured follow-up development.
- Maintain coaching audit results of at least 85%, while continually working towards an aspirational 100% standard.
- Mentor coaches individually and create education, workshops and practical development opportunities for the wider team.
- Identify capability gaps and hold coaches accountable to consistent technical, safety, service and member-experience standards.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding and development of new Hybrid and HIT coaches.
- Review class performance, timetabling, coach allocation and member engagement alongside the Group Fitness Director.
- Build a strong training community through challenges, events, workshops and in-club activations.
- Maintain exceptional studio presentation, equipment readiness and operational consistency.
- Protect class continuity and coaching quality during planned and unplanned absences.
- Contribute to broader group fitness initiatives and the continued evolution of the brand’s coaching culture.
The calibre we are looking for
You are already recognised as a credible coach and leader within strength and conditioning, functional fitness, athletic performance or premium group training.
You are likely to bring:
- Six or more years of substantial coaching experience, ideally including prior Head Coach, Lead Coach or coaching-team leadership responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience designing and evolving structured group training programs.
- Strong knowledge of strength development, conditioning, muscular endurance, aerobic capacity, movement efficiency and load management.
- Exceptional movement analysis, exercise correction and class-management capability.
- Experience mentoring, auditing and developing other coaches—not just delivering your own sessions well.
- Evidence of improving coaching quality, member outcomes, engagement, attendance or retention.
- The confidence to give direct, constructive feedback and the credibility to bring people with you.
- Strong organisation and the ability to balance coaching, programming, people leadership and operational responsibilities.
- A clear understanding of what a premium member experience should look and feel like.
- Certificate III and IV in Fitness, together with current First Aid and CPR certification.
- CrossFit, HYROX or advanced strength and conditioning qualifications will be highly regarded.
You do not need to be the loudest coach in the room.
You do need to be the coach others look to for clarity, technical excellence, consistency and leadership.
Why this opportunity stands apart
- Lead Hybrid and HIT across two of Brisbane’s most distinctive fitness and wellness destinations.
- Work within purpose-built studios and premium training environments designed to support exceptional coaching.
- Take genuine ownership of programming quality, coach capability and the member experience.
- Join a senior leadership team that values evidence, accountability, community and continual improvement.
- Influence an established offering while helping shape its next stage of growth.
- Work for a brand that understands performance and recovery are equally important to long-term results.
This is a rare opportunity for a career coach who wants their expertise to influence more than the classes they personally deliver.
Your impact will be seen in the standard of the programming, the capability of the coaching team and the experience every member receives.
Apply
Applications are welcomed from exceptional coaches across Australia who are prepared to be based in Brisbane and work across both the Newstead and West End locations.
Your application should clearly demonstrate:
- The teams, programs or coaching functions you have led.
- The scope of your programming responsibility.
- How you have developed and held other coaches accountable.
- Measurable improvements you have delivered across coaching quality, member results, attendance, engagement or retention.
If you have built your career around doing the fundamentals exceptionally well, and helping other coaches do the same, we would like to hear from you.
All applications will be treated with complete confidentiality.
