In this role, you'll:
Working within our Engineering and Maintenance Team at Sydney Trains, the primary purpose of our Stores Officer is to take responsibility for the day to day logistics and facilities management function at a Network Base including materials resources procurement and maintaining the inventory systems and processes required by Satellite, in order to achieve maintenance objectives.
About you
You will take responsibility for ordering, maintaining and issuing all inventory and material resources, including any required emergency stores, to enable the effective and efficient running of the Network Base.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Process inventory transactions and maintain the inventory management systems and processes, in line with Sydney Trains and NSW Public Sector requirements, maintaining appropriate levels of inventory, controlling issue and accurate reporting on inventory levels
- Provide logistics information/data/reports to the Senior Logistics and Facilities Officer to assist in planning and budget management
- Liaise with Team Leaders to ensure material resources are available for planned work
- Maintain the store and surrounding area to ensure it is kept clean, tidy and safe and coordinate facilities management requirements for Satellite
- Evaluate appropriate suppliers, obtain quotes, and prepare requisitions or other documentation for the procurement of required material resources
- Assist the Senior Logistics and Facilities Officer with the engagement of external services for the supply of specialist services as required
- Maintain calibration services and the register for minor plant and equipment, ensuring all documentation, records and compliance requirements are completed accurately.
This is an on-site position based in Surry Hills, Sydney.
