FinXL is seeking a results-driven Senior Objectstar Software Engineer to join a large-scale federal government technology environment. In this role, you will provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers, writing optimised code and overseeing complex development and migration projects. This position has a strong focus on driving high-quality development processes, managing software construction activities, and ensuring complex ICT services are robust and fit for purpose
Key Responsibilities:

Create high-quality software and technical designs for the realisation of complex development solutions.

Develop clean, optimised code and manage the long-term maintenance of the product's codebase.

Provide expert technical advice on software development, maintenance, and industry best practices.

Provide comprehensive go-live support and technical maintenance for complex developments.

Perform a wide range of analysis, design, software development, prototyping, unit testing, and deployment activities.

Undertake detailed analysis of technical requirements to support project evaluation with proposed solutions.

Ensure strict compliance with endorsed software development methodologies, guidelines, and cyber security policies.

Identify, investigate, and resolve complex ICT issues within both development and production environments.

Proactively assess, communicate, monitor, and control operational and technical risks.

Manage and prioritise your own and others' workloads to effectively meet business objectives within specified timeframes.
Technical Skill & Experience:
- Extensive technical expertise in Objectstar Development, COBOL, and JCL.

Strong practical experience in code building, technical analysis, application integration, and Objectstar migration.

Proven capability to provide technical leadership to engineering teams, oversee software development projects, and manage software planning activities.

Capabilities aligned with SFIA Level 4 (Methods and tools, Programming/software development, Release and deployment, Software configuration, Systems design, Systems integration and build) and SFIA Level 3 (Software design, Testing).
