To ensure we continue to provide a superior level of service and care to our elderly, we are seeking self-motivated and experienced Cleaner/Laundry Assistants to join our team on a Casual or Permanent Part-Time basis. Opportunities are available at our facility in Mayfield (Newcastle).
In the role of Cleaning/Laundry Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment through the day-to-day cleaning of all areas within our residential premises. You will also undertake all laundry duties to the highest standard, ensuring compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as Fronditha Care’s policies and procedures.
Tasks and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment by completing daily cleaning tasks across the facility.
- Provide high-quality laundry services, ensuring residents’ personal clothing and linen are washed, labelled and returned accurately and promptly.
- Follow cleaning schedules and infection control standards to support the health and wellbeing of our residents.
- Monitor and maintain cleaning and laundry supplies, reporting any stock or quality issues.
- Ensure equipment is used safely and report any faults or hazards promptly.
- Work collaboratively with the team and complete other duties as required to support smooth daily operations.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need to meet the following criteria, but not limited to:
- Previous experience in cleaning/laundry or similar role preferably in Aged Care settings.
- Ability to organise workload according to priorities.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Understanding of elderly people's needs and limitations.
- Good communication skills.
- Preparedness to work to levels of excellence and quality.
- Current police clearance.
