The opportunity
As our Finance Manager, you'll be at the heart of managing our financial operations , leading budgeting, forecasting, costing, reporting, financial planning and strategic analysis. You will have the opportunity to drive senior management engagement on budget and forecast outcomes by challenging assumptions, surfacing risks, and spotlighting strategic opportunities.
You will also be responsible to:
Embed robust costing and funding modelling practices, standards and frameworks into all ITP services through efficient cost recovery.
Transform data and information into pricing and costing insights to support strategy and decision-making.
Provide effective leadership to support staff in meeting the organisation's expectations for productivity, quality, and achieving objectives to deliver required outcomes.
Analyse underlying financial performance and associated key business drivers with a focus on optimising costs, improving revenues and enhancing overall performance.
Deliver timely, expert advice and analysis on ITP's financial business operations addressing key operational and emergent issues.
Develop and maintain constructive, collaborative working relationships with stakeholders, becoming a trusted advisor and member of a dynamic multidisciplinary team.
Maintain compliance with departmental policy and procedures (including the Financial Management Practice Manual), Australian Accounting Standards, and relevant legislation.
Actively participate in identifying and implementing continuous improvement and AI enablement opportunities in Finance processes, tools and templates.

What we are looking for (qualifications, registrations, experience)
An appropriate tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (eg commerce, accountancy, business) - highly desirable.
Membership of CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA), or MIPA status with the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) - highly desirable.
Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and managing cost recovery models, including activity-based costing and full-cost attribution methodologies.
Extensive experience in budgeting, financial planning, and financial reporting, particularly in a cost recovery environment.
Demonstrates a sound understanding of contemporary digital / information technology concepts and service delivery relevant to a large organisation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports, briefing papers, and correspondence.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leaders and external partners
Have extensive knowledge of the Australian Accounting Standards and Queensland Government financial policies.
Presents technical information and risks in plain language, verbally and in proposals and business cases.
Demonstrated success in leading and developing finance teams in the public sector or not-for-profit organisation.
