About the opportunity
As a Postie, you’ll deliver on an electric pushbike, representing a trusted national service and playing an important role in keeping communities connected. Each day starts as part of a supportive team, preparing mail and small parcels at the facility before heading out to complete deliveries to homes and businesses with care and consistency.
Safety is built into every part of the role, from completing daily vehicle checks to following well‑established processes that support confident, reliable delivery in changing conditions. You won’t be doing it alone — experienced Rider Mentors provide hands‑on guidance and ongoing support, helping you build skills, confidence and capability over time.

You’ll be

Starting your day early in the morning, sorting mail and small parcels with your teammates at the facility

Completing your own daily vehicle safety check

Loading your vehicle with your deliveries for the day

Delivering outdoors in all types of weather to deliver to homes and businesses

Paired up with our experienced Rider Mentors, who are committed to engage and take part in your professional development
About you

You have good experience riding a pushbike and currently ride one safely and regularly

On employment, you’ll need to successfully pass our mandatory bike training and assessment

You are flexible with finishing times and working additional hours to support service outcomes

You have a good memory, great hand/eye coordination, and excellent attention to detail for when sorting mail

You enjoy physical work indoors and outdoors and can lift up to 16kgs of Mail and Parcels regularly

You will need to meet our safe working vehicle load limit of weighing under 115kgs fully clothed (including helmet)

Keen to learn and grow, with pathways into senior delivery or mentoring roles

Pay rate for this role is $32.34ph for the first 3 months, then $36.99ph once fully trained plus 12% superannuation

Training and Support
At Australia Post, our training and induction programs offer support to ensure we set you up for success. You will attend an induction in your first week with our Learning and Development Team followed by a site-specific induction at your respective facility and additional online learning modules. As a new employee, you will receive one-on-one coaching, followed by regular check-ins with your Manager and Trainer to track progress, provide feedback, and discuss any support needed. We assess development at the end of each month during your probationary period, with adjustments or additional training as required. The program includes site-specific inductions and hands-on training, building employees up to full delivery capacity within six weeks. Our approach is flexible, ensuring long-term success and continuous growth.
