OMCC outdoor play environments incorporate our natural rural surroundings and encourage all children to explore their senses while learning about the environment, sustainability, animals and growing and caring for plants.
This is a rare opportunity to work in suburbia on 6.5 acres with animals (cow, sheep, alpaca, goats, rabbits and chickens), go on tractor/ trailer rides with the children and educate the children to develop skills to care for and nurture animals.

OMCC seeks to employ a committed and enthusiastic trainee educator with a passion for learning and who is willing to undertake an 18-month Certificate 3 traineeship in Early Childhood Education and Care Children’s Services. CHC30125
During this 18-month contract, individuals will obtain on the job training while undertaking a study to complete a Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care, to gain skills, knowledge and experience in working with children 0-6 years.
Trainees will be mentored by a team of experienced educators and guided to actively participate in the curriculum documents that guide children’s learning and communicate effectively with families.
As part of the National Child Safety Practices all applicants must complete the Gecko Child Safe Training before the position commences. The link to complete the training is https://learning.education.gov.au/user_login

To be successful in starting a rewarding career in child care as a trainee, applicants will need to possess:
- An interest in working with children and be 18 years old or older
- Reading and writing skills to complete the study and service documentation.
- Time management skills to work full time while undertaking study.
- A can do attitude and an ability to listen and take advice from team members.
- A cooperative nature and a willingness to be a flexible team member.
- A strong work ethic and commitment to the position
- A Working with Children Check (WWCC) (A paid WWCC is a requirement to start the position. Applicants can obtain a volunteer check for free.)
- Gecko- National Child Safety Training certificate.
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience working with children.
- Ability to identify and provide a safe environment.
- Adequate reading and writing skills to complete service documents to a professional standard.
- Ability to interact effectively with children.
- Be able to show initiative and work within a team.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience within the local community developing professional relationships.
To be eligible for a traineeship, applicants must be 18 years or older.
Additional Information
This position has been identified as a child-related position under Child Protection laws in NSW. Applicants need to provide OMCC with a valid copy of the Working with Children Check.
Wages and conditions are in accordance with the Modern Award Miscellaneous Award, the Children’s Services Award and the NES.
Employment - Permanent Full-Time 18-month Trainee Contract
